Creating a Stunning Stained Glass Shadow Box with Lights
Stained glass is beautiful on its own, but what if you could add an extra glow to your designs? In this project, I took a stained glass pattern and turned it into a stunning shadow box display with LED lights. The result? A piece that shines—literally! Whether you're looking for a unique way to showcase your stained glass or just love creative projects, this tutorial will walk you through the process.
Check out the video below to see how I brought this idea to life!
What You'll Need
To recreate this project, here’s what I used:
✔️ A stained glass pattern (I used Oyster in the Sea Stained Glass Pattern, available HERE)
✔️ I used my plotter cutter to create a vinyl template - this isn't essential, I just find it helps create more accurate cuts.
✔️ Glass, cutter, grinder, and soldering tools
✔️ A shadow box frame (deep enough for the glass and lights)
✔️ LED strip lights or fairy lights
✔️ Soldering materials (foil, flux, solder)
This project was such a fun way to take stained glass beyond traditional windows and sun catchers. Shadow boxes with lights are perfect for home décor, gifts, or even holiday displays!
